DECISIONS, decisions!
Every single day life demands decisions. Some are big decisions and others small, however each and every one of "our choices make us who we are.” Given the weightiness of some of these decisions, how can we consistently make good choices? Psalm 23:3 provides us a clue: “He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” God leads us and He has commissioned the Holy Spirit to guide us with each and every decision we make. In John 16:13 Jesus tells us that "the Spirit of Truth will guide you into all the truth."
God desires that we look to Him when making right decisions. His “voice” should always be the first “voice” we listen to, certainly not the voices of our culture, or even our own voice. God wants us to be different, He wants us to stand out from the world! In other words, the aim in our decision making is not to blend in, but to look to Him “…then you will know what is good and pleasing and perfect” (Romans 12:2b).
The culture says do what you want, it won’t hurt. The Bible says: “There is a way that seems right to man, but it end is the way to death” (Proverbs 14:12).
If you haven't already, make it a habit to stop listening to a culture that doesn’t follow God and listen to the Spirit who speaks on behalf of God. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). God’s Spirit is ALWAYS available to help you make right decisions.
Warning: don’t manipulate circumstances until they say what you want to hear!
